Women drive away robber by shouting 'Jesus'

Florida police said an armed robber who interrupted a jewelry party
left empty-handed when the home owner started a chant of "Jesus"
reports Upi.com. Jacquie Hagler of Lake City said she was hosting a
group of 14 women at her house Friday for a jewelry party when the
gunman, who had a bandana across his face, entered the home and
ordered the women to hand over their money and phones, WJXT-TV,
Jacksonville, Fla., reported Monday. Police said one woman believed
the incident to be a gag and said the weapon was a "water gun,"
leading the robber to put the gun to her headand threaten to "shoot
someone."
Hagler said she decided her faith was the answer. "When I realized
what was going on, I stood up and said, 'In the name of Jesus, get out
of my house now.' And he said, 'I'm going to shoot someone.' And I
said it again, real boldly," Hagler said. "Everybody started chanting,
'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,' and he did a quick scan of the room, and ran
out the door as fast as he could go." Police confirmed the arrest of
Derek Lee, 24, on suspicion of home invasion robbery. He was being
held in lieu of $200,000 bond. Investigators said they are
investigating whether Lee was also involved in an attempted robbery at
a nearby ATM moments prior to the incident at Hagler's home.

A 31 Years Old Mother Accused of Groping a 12 years Old Boy

A 31 years old woman who molested three boys after consuming excess
alcohol walked free from court yesterday.
Amanda Wheeler, a mother-of-three, downed vodka, beer and wine at a
friend's birthday party before kissing and groping a 12-year-old boy
on a bench.
She then performed a lap-dance and straddled a group of teenage boys.
The part-time cleaner also bit a 13-year-old boy on his neck and
persuaded him to perform a sex act on her.
The accused woman denied four counts of sexual activity with a child
and one of sexual assault but was found guilty following a two-week
trial in October at Worcester Crown Court.
Delivering the verdict, Judge Patrick Thomas QC said he did not
believe the incident on November 29, 2011, 'arose out of paedophilia'
but wasa 'one-off'.
He told the court: 'It is a highly unusual and very difficult case.
'I'm satisfied that this behaviour arose not out of paedophilia,
although these were paedophile acts, but out of drunkenness,
selfishness and a real element of childishness on your part. You were
grossly disinhibited but I don't think that in you there is a tendency
or proclivity towards this sort of behaviour and because of this I can
regard it as a one-off.'
Wheeler, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, was given a two-year prison
sentence suspended for two years at Birmingham Crown Court.
Judge Thomas said the three boys had made a full recovery 'from what
could have been extraordinarily traumatic experiences'.
However, he told Wheeler she 'should be ashamed' of herself for
pleading not guilty as he said the quantity of alcohol she had drunk
meant she could not dispute the testimony of the boys.
Wheeler was acquitted of a sixth charge of sexual activity with a child.
She was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for ten years.

71 years old woman arrested for prostitution

Wonders shall never cease. A 71-year-old woman Sygun Liebhart has been arrested on prostitution charges following a raid at a Glastonbury hotel in Connecticut, US.
According to agent James Kennedy of the Glastonbury Police Department, an advertisement in the classified section of Backpage.com tipped off authorities to Liebhart's alleged prostitution activities, the Huffingtonpost reports.
Liebhart, according to police, promoted herself in the escort section of the website under the name ‘Lola.’ A cached version of the ad for ‘Lola’ which is now offline reads:
'Older is Better … A well preserved beauty. All natural and busty 38DD. Sexy, fit, warm and friendly'.
‘Lola’ charges up to $150 for a ‘nice time’. Other younger women charge about double that amount.
Surveillance units were dispatched to the hotel and took Liebhart into custody. Liebhart, who is a resident of nearby Westport, has been charged with a single count of prostitution and bond was set at $500.00 non-surety

FrostJackers Steal Manchester United Star Scholes' Car

Paul Scholes was left red-faced yesterday when thieves stole the Manchester United midfielder's car, as he left it defrosting on his driveway with the engine still running, reports the Manchester Evening News. The 38-year-old Manchester United veteran, presumably on his way to first-team training had nipped briefly back into his Oldham home at around 7.45am on Monday morning, while the ice melted on the windscreen of his £30,000 Chevrolet only to return and the vehicle has vanished into thin air. GMF reports that police investigation into the crime is ongoing after the incident was reported by Scholes. "Police are investigating after a car was stolen while the owner was defrosting the vehicle,"confirmed a Greater Manchester Police spokesman. "The grey Chevrolet estate was stolen from the drive of a house in the Greenfield area of Oldham between 7.45am and 8am on Monday. Inquiries to locate the car are ongoing. "Motorists may be tempted to leave their vehicle with the engine running while they go inside to stay in the warm-however, it only takes a few seconds to steal a car when keys have been left in the ignition." Chevrolet agreed a deal to become official sponsors of Manchester United back in September, with all first-team players offered a choice of the firm's cars as part of the multi-million pound contract. Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson actually banned his younger stars from driving the American company's sporty Corvette model, which has a top-speed of 196mph. Although Scholes wasn't included in the restrictions he instead opted for the less flashy Captiva model, which is more suited to the family man's everyday duties outside of football.

How to Apply Makeup on an Aging Skin

Aging and its resultant effect on the skin has become a source of
worry and depression to people to the extent that some are ready to do
anything necessary to make them look younger than their age. Some even
go for surgeries which is expensive and dangerous. We want to present
to you some tips that can help you lift your looks and erase years
from your face, yet will not cost you much nor endanger your health.
Step 1: wash your face thoroughly to dampen it, after which you apply
moisturiser on your face. This will enable any makeup that will be
applied later to gel. Applying sunscreen after the moisturiser will
help to slow down the progression of any other further signs of aging.
Once the sunscreen has had a bit of a chance to sink into the skin,
take a makeup primer and apply it to your face. Primer is important
for aging skin as it helps fill in those wrinkles and other fine lines
that reveal our age.

Step 2: Conceal. Do not make the mistake of packing the concealer
around your eyes, as this will make your eye area to look cakey,
thereby highlighting the wrinkles and fine lines. You can slip the
skin-toned concealer if you have noticeable veins or red marks on your
face, jump straight to the green
concealer. Dab a bit of concealer on your fingers and the blend the
green concealer right onto the affected skin.
Now take a concealer that matches your skin tone and use it
to conceal any dark liver or age spot that is visible on areas like
the face, arm, chest etc.
Step 3: Apply Foundation.
Using a foundation makeup brush or sponge, dab the foundation on your
face, placing dots at different points such as the chin, the nose, the
forehead and the cheeks. Use the brush to then evenly sweep the
foundation over your face.
Warm colours are ideal for dull skins. Experts suggest using colours
that are half-shade lighter than your skin tone.
Step 4: Glow
Illuminators and bronzers has light reflecting particles that can give
your skin a sun-kissed glow, and make you look younger. Blend a
liquid highlighter into your cheekbones and along the bridge of your
nose. It is pertinent that you concentrate on your face bone structure
to lift the face while applying the highlighter. You can blend the
bronzer with moisturizer or foundation and apply it evenly on your
face to get a more natural glow.
Step 5: Cream blush is ideal for older skin as it helps to hydrate
the skin, accentuate wrinkles and give you a younger looking skin. Use
your hand to apply the cream blush into the apples of your cheek and
carefully blend it until your skin absorbs it completely.
You skin is worth taking care of at any age. Though, the makeup that
you used 10-20 years ago may not work for you later. The only
challenge you have to face is that of modifying your makeup to suit
your current age and situation. Brighter colours may not go down well
with aging skin as this will draw unwarranted attention of people to
your skin.

Beauty Tips For Teens

Teenage period is a period of self-consciousness on the part of the
teenager. And, if you're a teenage girl,
especially, one whose skin, complexion or overall appearance
is not "picture perfect" that can make the whole experience
even worse. (This of course, can apply to any girl, depending on her
frame of mind).

Fortunately, here are some beauty tips that can come to the rescue for
your face and skin type, so you can meet the world refreshed and
ready, as well as some make-up and safety tips for when you're going
out and having fun. All this said, always remember that true self
improvement comes from within, and that while looking good on the
outside, in terms of being presentable and attractive, you always find
a strive for, but never define who you are.

FACIAL SKIN CARE TIP

Physical transformation that comes with putting on makeup should not
be confused with a sort of personal transformation. When you feel
beautiful inside, you will be more attractive to others on the
outside. Makeup will not do it.
From a practical physical standpoint, it is a good idea to
remember that your skin needs to breathe.

>It is important to keep your skin as natural as possible- so try and keep makeup as minimal as is necessary and keep going, "all-out" for special occasions like parties.

>If your face is usually dry: Before you shower, apply a rich moisturizing mask or thick layer of moisturizer. The moist heat helps the mask plump up fine lines and creases temporarily.

>Apply a heavy layer of petroleum jelly to lips. At the end of the shower, use a warm damp washcloth to gently massage off both treatments, and then use a naturally made loofah to bring out a natural, healthy glow.

>If your skin is naturally oily: Use toner before and after you get out of the shower, before, to clean off any oil that has risen to the surface during sleep, and again when you get out to take off any oil that has surfaced from the heat of the water.

>If you have combination skin, only apply toner masks to the "T" area on your face, you could cause your cheeks to redden from applying toner there. Dab yellow or skin-tone concealer on blue under eye circles. Stay away from lighter skin tone or white cover-ups. You can get free samples to try out in the privacy of your own home and samples are available for all skin tones

Storage matters; Store your cosmetics in a cool dark place to preserve
them for longer.

If you don't remember the last time you used it, then it has to be discarded.

For how long should you keep each product?

Eyeshadow........one year.

Lipstick................one year six months.

Liquid Foundation.........six months.

Eyeliner................one year.
Mascara................four months.
Concealer.............eight months.

Blusher and Bronzer ................................two years.

Is YOUR eyeshadow a breeding ground for bacteria? Women keep make-up for six YEARS after expiry date - leaving them at risk of infection

A new survey reveals British women keep hold of their make-up products
for six years after they go off-much longer than the use-by date,
exposing them to toxins and bacteria, which lead to unnecessary
breakouts and risk of eye infections.
Eyeshadow was revealed as the item that spends the longest time
languishing at the bottom of make-up bags, with women keeping hold of
them for seven years - nearly six years too long.
Many women are unaware that their mascara should be disposed of after
just FOUR MONTHS. Eye shadow is also one of the worst culprits for
spreading infections as it is applied close to the eye.
Next worst was lipstick and liquid foundation, which are kept for 4
years, and over 3 years respectively, amounting to more than three
years longer than they should be kept.
Mascara is one of the worst culprits when it comes to spreading eye
infections and was discovered to be kept nearly two years past its
date of expiration, and eyeliner is kept three years too long on
average.
The most frequently replenished beauty products were face powder,
blusher and bronzer, even at that, they were kept a year longer than
they should be, the survey revealed.

Eyeshadow came up trumps for the most hoarded item at the bot
Emma Leslie, Beauty Editor at Escentual.com who carried out the
survey, said: 'We're all guilty of clinging on to lip and eye colours
in the hope they come back into fashion but make-up can easily become
a breeding ground for bacteria like satphylococcus aureus and
staphylococcus epidermis. 'Mascara is one of the worst culprits for
spreading eye infections'
'Beauty products that surround the eye hold the greatest risk of
infection and can cause bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis, an
inflammation of the eyelid.
'So it's alarming to learn that British women are holding onto
eyeshadow more than five years past the expiration date.
'Liquid foundation, blusher, bronzer, concealer and face powder past
expiration dates can clog up pores with bacteria, which can cause
irritations, break-outs and rashes.

HOW TO APPLY EYE SHADOW

How do you apply your makeup? Standing in front of a mirror? That will
be the response of most of us. the best place to apply your eye makeup
isn't standing in front of a mirror. Sitting down at a table or desk
with a tilt-type mirror in front of you will give you more control and
a better look.
Lets practice now, get a mirror in front of your desk now and look
down in the mirror and see what I'm talking about. You are sure to see
more of your lid and eye area at this angle. You will have a smoother
eyelid to work on and you won't have to squint or close one eye to put
the eye makeup on.
This also works well if you are doing a more elaborate eye
makeup "design" with more than one color, or applying false
eyelashes, or applying dark shadow in the crease of your eye to define
the area more.
Do you always start at the corner of your eye
(near the nose) when applying eye shadow? You'll leave too much of a
shadow deposit
there. Instead, apply about an inch away first, stroking the color
outward, across the fullest part of the lid. Then, go back to the
inner corner and dust the color that is left on the applicator in the
corner of the lid.
For a nice finished look, smudge aplum, brown, or charcoal
gray pencil liner along the outer third of the upper and lower lash
line before you apply your mascara.

West Ham Owner's son "Disappointed" with Chamakh's Loan Deal

West Ham have signed Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh on loan - although one supporter of the club in particular is far from happy about the deal. Breaking the news on Twitter, Jack Sullivan - son of Hammers co-owner David - posted: "I am very sorry about this news Chamakh has sign a 6 month loan deal! not my pick :(" according to mirror.co.uk, Jack Sullivan has a track record of revealing inside information about West Ham deals on Twitter. Though many fans welcome his honesty and insight, this latest outburst could be seen as an embarrassment to the club's management as the post was made before Hammers had officially confirmed the deal. Only a couple of hours earlier manager Sam Allardyce had told reporters in his Friday press conference that the club had made an 'enquiry' about Chamakh . "The situation I have with Andy Carroll being injured and Modibo Maiga going to the African Cup of Nations, this moment as a striker we have Carlton Cole and that's it,"said Allardyce. The Moroccan striker can at least take heart from Jack Sullivan's follow-up post: "I hope Chamakh can prove me wrong !?!?!?"

BA COMPLETES CHELSEA SWITCH, SIGNS THREE-AND-HALF YEARS DEAL

Now I am here I just need to get settled in. Ba also disclosed that it was not hard for him to decide to leave for chelsea; "When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that's something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one."

LAGOS STATE POLICE REARRESTS A PASTOR FOR RAPING A MINOR

A 40-year-old pastor, Alasco Sobowale, has been rearrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Epe area of the state. Police authorities said the suspect, who is a pastor at Okiki Imole Church, Epe, was rearrested on Thursday at his home located at 10, Togodo Street, Temu Town. The police had arrested Sobowale on December 21, 2012, for allegedly raping the minor but was later released on bail because courts were not in session. However, after PUNCH Metro published the story on Thursday, the policemen attached to Epe Division stormed his home and rearrested him. A police source, who craved anonymity, said, “The pastor should never have been released in the first place and the police high command is very much interested. If Sobowale was released because courts were not in session, why were all other suspects in police custody not granted bail as well? “Rape is a very serious offence and we will make sure that he is prosecuted. After the publication, many members of the community, including elders, rose against the pastor and promised to make sure that the case was pursued to a logical conclusion.” “The suspect has been transferred to the SCID Yaba for further investigation and he will be charged with rape and sodomy,” spokes person of state police command, Ngozi Braide said. Correspondents of Punch News reported that the victim had been referred to Epe General Hospital for medical treatment.

OBASANJO: THE SMOKE FROM THE FIRE WAS ENOUGH TO KILL ANY LIVING BEING

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday said providence saved him from the fire which recently burnt a part of his Hilltop Mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State. If the fire which consumed his secretary’s office had occurred during the night, the former President said he would have been suffocated by fumes from the inferno. He spoke when the executive members of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party visited him in Abeokuta. According to him, the smoke from the fire, which enveloped his bedroom, was enough to kill any living being. He said, “The fire, which occurred in the office of my private secretary, resulted in thick smoke which pervaded my bedroom. If it had happened at night, I would have been a dead person.” Obasanjo, who thanked God for sparing his life to witness the New Year, said since the incident, he had continued to receive calls from within and outside the country. He said, “I want to thank you all who called me on the telephone, both within and outside the country. Let us appreciate the mercy and kindness of God. There were many of us who started last year, but are no more today. We are not mocking them but extolling God. “In fact, that I am able to stand erect is God’s blessings. Many in my age group cannot stand well anymore. I am not mocking them, but I am thanking God. My hope and prayer are that this year will be a glorious year.”

Ferguson Rubbishes Retirement Talks

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson Sir Alex Ferguson has stated there is no likelihood of an imminent managerial vacancy at Manchester United. With Pep Guardiola due to end his post-Barcelona sabbatical next summer, Jose Mourinho tipped to leave Real Madrid and David Moyes’ Everton contract ready to expire, three of the major candidates to replace Ferguson could be available at the end of the season. It has led to suggestions Ferguson, who celebrated his 71st birthday on Monday, will call time on a Manchester United career which now extends beyond 26 years. However, in an interview with the Abu Dhabi Sports channel, Ferguson makes it clear he is going nowhere. “I’m hoping to stay on for a bit of time,” he said. And, though Guardiola, Mourinho and Moyes are bound to be at the top of the list if they are available, Ferguson highlights the precarious nature of football management and states further consideration is impossible. “It’s very difficult,” he said. “Over the years, names have been bandied about but football is such a precarious industry. “But you could be talking about one of the potentially exciting young managers in the game, but is he going to be here in twoor three years’ time?”

Jonathan Has Listed His Priorities for the New Year.

The President, in the traditional message to Nigerians to usher in the New Year, who said that his administration will give priority to flood and erosion control, rehabilitation and expansion of federal roads, improved power supply, as well as continued rehabilitation, upgrading and reactivation of the national rail network in 2013, also listed employment generation and wealth creation as areas that will remain a primary objective of his socio-economic agenda for this year. Jonathan who thanked God for bringing us and the nation safely through the past year to the beginning of 2013, assured that by God’s grace, the New Year will be a much better year for Nigerians and the country. “Creating more employment opportunities for our youth and graduates of our universities is an imperative that will continue to underpin our drive for massive economic growth, the rapid expansion of our manufacturing and industrial base, and the productive diversification of our national economy. In this regard, we will continue to provide the necessary enabling environment for the private sector to thrive”. On peace and security, Jonathan assured that this year, more will be done to further empower security agencies who are working in collaborative partnerships with the international community to stem the scourge of terrorism in the country and enhance the security of lives and property nationwide. “I also want to assure Nigerians that we will refuse to be discouraged by those who have taken it upon themselves to pick on every initiative and effort of this administration. We remain resolutely committed to the rule of law, Due Process and fair play in all circumstances. Our democracy continues to grow, and the scope for human freedom continues to expand. It is an achievement that we will continue to build upon. I say it again, we are determined to continue to push forward. We will do more, not less. We will remain focused. “For your part, dear compatriots, I urge that you all include in your New Year resolutions a commitment to do more this year to support the implementation of the Federal Government’s Agenda for NationalTransformation in every possible way. That is all I ask for. The task of making our dear nation a much better place for present and future generations cannot be left to government alone. Leaders and followers alike have critical roles to play in our march towards the fulfillment of our great national potentials. “Let us all therefore, resolve as we celebrate the New Year to place the higher interests of national unity, peace, stability and progress above all other considerations and work harder in our particular fields of human endeavour to contribute more significantly to the attainment of our collective aspirations”, he said. The President said his administration last year “achieved a lot in terms of the positive transformation of vital sectors of our national life such as public infrastructure, power supply, oil and gas, transportation, education, health and agricultural development. We will continue to work diligently in 2013 to ensure that our efforts in these areas are carried forward to full fruition in fulfillment of our promise of better public services and improved living conditions for all Nigerian”, the President noted.
