EFCC: Orji Uzor Kalu Frustrates Trial
The trial of former Abia State Governor, Orji Kalu, for alleged N5.6
billion fraud was on Thursday stalled at the Federal High Court in
Abuja due to a pending appeal. Mr. Kalu had approached the Supreme
Court to request it to set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal
which upheld the charges levelled against him by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He had urged the trial court to quash the charges as no evidence was
established against him.
The anti-graft agency had, among other things, accused the former
governor of stealing over N5.6 billion belonging to Abia State while
in office.
At the resumed session, O. Ololagbe, Counsel to EFCC, said the accused
had resorted to various legal tactics to delay his trial.
"My Lord, this matter has dragged on since 2007 when the accused was
arraigned and doesnot seem to have made any headway,'' he said.
However, Mr. Kalu urged the court to discountenance the allegation
made by EFCC, since he is rightly before the Supreme Court.
"My Lord, the appeal and the brief of argument have been entered, so
what is left now is a date to commence hearing. The reason we are here
today is simply to brief the trial court on the progress of the appeal
and not to question a possible legal tactics to delay the trial.
"These are serious criminal allegations that are not founded on truth
but built on political leanings. So we must deal with it judicially
and judiciously, irrespective of the time consumed," his counsel said.
Justice Adamu Bello adjourned the matter to July 8 for the report of
progress from the Supreme Court.

Chris Brown on Rihanna:"I'm Eternally Gratefuland Thankful" for Her Forgiveness
Though often criticized, the always-controversial 23-year-old sounded
sincere, genuine and thoughtful during his interview with seacrest.
Hear what the entertainer had to say when asked if he ever thought
that Rihanna would forgive him "I just tried my best to be the best
man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and
sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part
of my life and being that she has and she's a wonderful person I'm
eternally grateful and thankful,"
As for how they're getting on now, Chris added: "It's still like we're
kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, 'Lets have candlelight
dinner every night.' I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to
be fun and it has to be genuine."
The singer, though admitted that his age then could have contributed
to his behaviour, but refused to use that as an excuse: "I could put
that on my age but that would just be making an excuse."
"I think for me that at age 18-19 I was capable of writing and
producing songs, so I'm also capable of making the right choices. So I
think it's a learning process."
"At that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely
hotheaded. Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how
to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands."
The R&B star also spoke about his relationship with fans "People are
entitled to their opinions. I can't go around blaming. It's all about
my responsibility and me growing up as a man."
"So I think now that I'm becoming older, and trying to mature in this
life under the public eye, I have to focus on doing the right thing
and being more of a humble individual."
Chris Brown is currently working on a collaboration with Jennifer
Lopez, whom he hopes to feature on his new album.

NCC announces new rates for GSM operators in Nigeria
The Nigerian Communication Commission ( NCC ), has announced a new
interconnectivity rate for the country. The new rates which represents
a downward review takes effect from 1st April, 2013.
The new set of interconnection rates determination for voice services
for the country's telecommunications industry which is as low as
N4.90k is expected to be in operation for the next three years until
further review by the Commission.
Meanwhile, MTN telecommunication has been fined N90 million for
failing to meet up with the industry key performance indicators. The
company has up to April 3rd, 2013 to pay the fine.
Mr. Tony Ojobo, Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communication
Commission made the disclosure on Friday during public enquiry on the
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) regulations.
Number portability enables telephone users retain their mobile
telephone numbers when changing from one mobile operator to another.
Though this is implemented in different ways across the globe.
Speaking on the new set of interconnection rates, Ojobo said the
decision was arrived at after comprehensive consultations with various
stakeholders.
He also said that they were informed by the depth of competition in
the industry, while taking into consideration the position of New
Entrants and Small Operators .
The Termination Rates for voice services provided by New Entrants and
Small Operators in Nigeria , irrespective of the originating network
shall be:
N6.40 (six naira forty kobo) from April 1st, 2013;
N5.20 (five naira twenty kobo) from April 1st 2014; and N3. 90 (three
naira ninety kobo) from 1st April, 2015.
Ojobo noted that the review was a sign to show that the Commission was
a sensitive regulator and has been listening to the yearnings of the
people.
He also announced that the planned emergency centers will soon kick
off with two pilot centers in Minna, Niger State, which is targetted
to serve the northern part of the country and the Akwa, Anambra States
centres meant to serve the southern part of the country. Both are to
serve as a learning curve as more centres are to be opened afterwards.
He gave the emergency number as 112.
He also explained that the initiative which is expected to come up
soon is being delayed bythe issue of management.
Speaking earlier on the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) regulations,
the Executive Vice Chairman, NCC Dr. Eugene Juwah said the service was
being introduced into the Nigerian telecommunication market to act as
an incentive for service providers to improve quality of service and
customer satisfaction.
He further added that "these regulations will in addition create a
harmonious level playing field for all operators.
The draft MNP regulations, he said were aimed at providing a
regulatory framework for the implementation and operation of mobile
number portability in Nigeria, which according to him, "will foster
and strengthen the relationship between service providers in the

Wole Soyinka & J.P. Clark Links Achebe’s Death to Kano Bombings
The news of the death of Nigeria's literary icon Chinua Achebe,
shocked the country.
The renowned novelist, poet, and author of the classic novel, ' Things
Fall Apart ' passed away yesterday in Boston, U.S.A and since then,
tributes and condolences have been pouring in.
Reports say that he died after suffering from an undisclosed ailment
and although the nature of the ailment has not been revealed, veteran
writers and Achebe's compatriots, Prof. Wole Soyinka and J.P. Clark ,
have said his death may not be unconnected to the bomb attacks that
occurred in Kano on Monday.
In a joint statement they issued on Friday which was made available to
Punch , they described him as "a brother, a colleague, a trailblazer".
The statement entitled " On the Passing of Chinua Achebe ," reads:
"For us, the loss of Chinua Achebe is, above all else, intensely
personal. We have lost a brother, a colleague, a trailblazer and a
doughty fighter.
"Of the 'pioneer quartet' of contemporary Nigerian literature, two
voices have been silenced – one, of the poet Christopher Okigbo, and
now, the novelist Chinua Achebe.
"It is perhaps difficult for outsiders of that intimate circle to
appreciate this sense of depletion, but we take consolation in the
young generation of writers to whom the baton has been passed, those
who have already creatively ensured that there is no break in the
continuum of the literary vocation.
"We need to stress this at a critical time of Nigerian history, where
the forces of darkness appear to overshadow the illumination of
existence that literature represents.
"These are forces that arrogantly pride themselves implacable and
brutal enemies of what Chinua and his pen represented, not merely for
the African continent, but for humanity.
"Indeed, we cannot help wondering if the recent insensate massacre of
Chinua's people in Kano, only a few days ago, hastened the fatal
undermining of that resilient will that had sustained him so many
years after his crippling accident."
Even though he lived far away in U.S.A, Achebe was still connected to
his roots and followed closely the happenings in Nigeria.

Presidential Pardon Aftermath: Alamieyeseigha's Stolen Billions May be Restored
Following the presidential pardon granted to the former governor of
bayelsa state, Mr. Alamieyeseigha, he may be paid billions of naira,
the value of the assets seized from him after his conviction for money
laundering.
Recall that President Goodluck Jonathan had granted Mr. Alamieyeseigha
a presidential pardon, rendering the former Bayelsa State governor a
freeman.
While Mr. Alamieyeseigha was convicted, properties he acquired from
his money laundering regime were seized, and most of them sold by the
federal government.
After his pardon, since his rights and privileges will be restored
according to Nigerian law, it is uncertain if he will retrieve the
items or the value of the items he corruptly acquired from the
Nigerian government.
Some lawyers say the presidential pardon bestowed on Mr.
Alamieyeseigha grants him fresh rights to the items he acquired with
wealth he stole. All, however, condemned the pardon granted the
fugitive, who is still wanted in the U.K. for jumping bail after he
was arrested for money laundering.
Though both the Federal Government and Mr. Alamieyeseigha are yet to
speak on the forfeited property, lawyers said the former Bayelsa
Governor has a case to demand the return of his forfeited property and
may infact go to court for same.
Should he achieve success in court, and since the property have
largely been disposed off, the federal government may pay billions of
naira in lieu of the property.
Arguing on the issue, an activist lawyer and Senior Advocate of
Nigeria, Femi Falana, said the precedence of an Appeal Court ruling on
what pardon means, implies Mr. Alamieyeseigha can ask for his asset to
be returned and actually get them.
"This is the implication of a full pardon," he said.
Mr. Falana cited the case of Olu Falae versus Obasanjo, where Mr.
Falae challenged the eligibility of former President Olusegun
Obasanjo, to contest for presidential election in 1999 saying the
former military head of state was not granted full pardon by the then
military junta.
"According to the Court of Appeal in the case of Falae V Obj, it means
that a man who has been pardoned is a new man (homo novus) in the eye
of the law. The conviction and sentence are wiped out and he is
entitled to the full restoration of his rights and privileges as well
as the return of his seized assets," Mr. Falana said.
While challenging the result of the presidential 1999 election, Mr.
Falae had argued that Mr. Obasanjo did not get "full pardon" from Gen.
Abdulsalami Abubakar after his conviction for involvement in the 1995
coup plot and therefore is not qualified to contest the election.
But the Court of Appeal while dismissing Mr. Falae's argument had ruled that:
"The word used under Section 161 (1) and Exhibit 11 is "pardon", and
in this context, pardon may be with or without any conditions. It is
clear from Exhibit 11 that the pardon granted to the 1st Respondent
was not made subject to any conditions. In my view, under the Nigerian
law, a "pardon" and "full pardon" have no distinction. A pardon is an
act of grace by the appropriate authority which mitigates or
obliterates the punishment the law demands for the offence, and
restores the rights and the privileges forfeited on account of the
offence. The effect of a pardon is to make the offender, a new man
(novus homo), to acquit him of all corporal penalties and forfeiture
annexed to the offence pardoned. I am of the view, that by virtue of
the pardon contained in Exhibit 11, the disqualification of the 1st
Respondent was to suffer because of his conviction, has been wiped
out."
Some other lawyers, however, disagree with this interpretation.
"The forfeitures were made before the pardon was granted, so what
happens if the properties forfeited to the Federal government have
been sold to a third party," asked activist lawyer,Bamidele Aturu.
"When you forfeit something, it is what you forfeit that you will get
back. Those goods have been forfeited to the Federal Government there
is no way this act of pardon can release that. So I don't know by what
legal abragadabra that anybody will say that the forfeited goods
should be handed over to him unless they want to perpetrate serious
fraud on Nigerian people. Those properties have been forfeited and
forfeited for life," he added.

(picture) A Wonder Chicken Lays an Egg with Another Egg Inside
Residents of Guizhou province, Southwest of China were left amazed
this week after a miracle chicken laid an egg so enormous that it
contained two yolks and another egg.
The egg, which has been labelled a monster egg was three times bigger
than usual, had two yolks and another whole egg inside its shell and
weighed nearly half a pound, reports ITN.
The owner of the chicken, which has laid three more eggs of that same
size in the past few weeks, an 87-year-old woman from Guizhou, China,
said she had never seen anything like it before. What could be the
cause of such an anomaly? The old woman put the size of the eggs down
to the hen's unusual diet of rice.

A Police Officer Who Left His Post to Meet His Loves has been Jailed for Nine Months
Ricci Giff, 38, father-of-two who works as an armed diplomatic
protection officer and whose job included guarding Downing Street,
left his patrol area checking some of London's most sensitive
buildings on three occasions in late 2011 to meet Melissa Ramsden, 37.
Married Giff, of Sandy, Bedfordshire, admitted three counts of
misconduct in a public office.
Southwark Crown Court heard on one of the occasions, Giff photographed
his girlfriend naked and wearing his gun.
The trysts also included one meeting at the Peel Centre at the
Metropolitan Police's training centre in Hendon - five miles from his
patrol area.
Others took place during night shifts at her flat, when he told his
partner he was going to meet a friend in Paddington.
The court heard on one occasion his unattended police motorcycle was
found outside Ms Ramsden's flat by officers who raised the alarm in
case he was in danger, only to see him come out and rideoff.
Ms Ramsden, who worked for the Israeli government tourism office in
the capital - part of Giff's patrol route - committed suicide in
December 2011.
He was not implicated in her death, the court heard, but photographs
and text messages found by investigating officers on her phone
revealed their relationship.
He was jailed for what Judge Anthony Pitts said was behaviour that
could not be tolerated by an officer in such an important role.
Claire Howell, prosecuting, said: "There were large periods of time
where he was trusted to be within the patrol area ready to respond if
required.
"He was fully armed and supposed to be part of a high-profile unit
guarding high-profile targets.
"He, more than anyone else, would have appreciated the potentially
catastrophic results if anything had happened and there was a delay in
the response time."
The court also heard he met Ms Ramsden on other occasions, including
one December 2011 shift when he was on duty outside Downing Street -
but they were allowed because they happened during legitimate breaks
in his 12-hour shifts.
After the Downing Street shift he went to her flat and it was then
that she posed for photos, including one in which she was naked apart
from Giff's uniform utility belt, containing his firearm and Taser
stun gun.
When they met at the Hendon police centre she signed in under a false
name. Ms Ramsden, who had a history of depression, was found dead at
her flat on December 22, days after their last meeting.
She sent him a text message the day before, thanking him for "being loving".
Their relationship was not the cause of her suicide, the court heard.
Richard Atchley, representing Giff, said he apologised for his
actions, especially to his wife and colleagues for letting them down.
He said Giff had had a difficult childhood and could have led a life
of crime but opted instead to join the police, where he had an
exemplary career until his relationship with Miss Ramsden.
This career was over because of his "foolhardy" actions, he said.
"He has paid a high price for his foolish and unprofessional
behaviour," he added, saying Giff never missed a check during his
motorcycle patrol in the capital.
Giff remains a police officer pending disciplinary proceedings, he
said, which will see him sacked.

UniCal Dismisses 5 Lecturers, Demotes 10 for Plagiarism & Financial Fraud
Five academic staff of the University of Calabar have been dismissed
from the institution after being found guilty of plagiarism and
financial fraud, while ten others have been demoted from their
positions, bellanaija reports. The news was disclosed by the Governing
Council of the University in a press release last friday.
According to the release which was signed by the secretary to the
Council and Registrar of the institution, Dr. Julia Omang , four of
the dismissed academic staff were involved in plagiarism while one was
a case of financial fraud.
The press release, which was made available to The Nation Newspaper,
further states that 10 academic staff were demoted because they chose
to publish their works in fake or cloned journals and proceeded to
submit same and obtained promotion in the process.
Those that were dismissed for outright plagiarism are, Dr. Azubuike
Iloeje and Dr. Maurice Bisong of the Department of English and
Literary Studies, Mr. Oden Ubi of the Department of Marketing and Dr.
Paulinus Noah of the Department of Linguistics and Communication
Studies.
The release further states that Dr. Damian Agom was dismissed for
salary overpayment, thereby enriching himself to the tone of N7,
268,044. 95 over a period of 11 months.
The demoted lecturers are – Prof. Udoayang, Dr. Asuquo Akabom, Dr.
Sunday Effiong and Dr. C. O. Udoka , all of Accounting Department,
Prof. Molinta Enendu Department of Theatre and Media Studies and Dr.
E.S. Akpan of Banking and Finance.
Also demoted are – Dr. A.I. Afangideh and Dr. Francis Okpiliya of the
Department of Geography and Environment Science and Dr. K.B.C Ashipu
of the Department of English and Literary Studies.
Professors Udoayang and Enendu were demoted to the rank of senior
lecturer, while Dr. Okpiliya, Dr. Afangideh and Dr. Ashipu have now
moved down to position of lecturer 1.
Besides their demotion, they are to refund all monies earned from
their unmerited promotion and barred from promotion for the next six
years, the release stated.
It is disheartening that the sort of offences usually committed by
corrupt politicians and public office holders has filtered into the
academic institutions to such an extent that is punishable with
dismissal and demotions.
Using fake journals to obtain a promotion is not just the sort of
thing we hear of from academicians. Fraud and plagiarism are also
serious offences which are not supposed to be taken lightly,
especially in an environment where the characters of our future
leaders are being molded.

Presidential Pardon for Alamieyeseigha & Others-The U.S. Government &Transparency International Questions Nigeria's Sincerity in Rooting Out Corruption
The United States Government has frowned at the pardon granted some
ex-convicts by the National Council of States headed by President
Goodluck Jonathan .
On Tuesday, the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreiye
Alamieyeseigha, the former head of the Bank of the North, Shettima
Bulama and some other Nigerians were granted a presidential pardon.
However, that of Alamieyeseigha and Bulama has caused some uproar
because of their records as ex-convicts.
In reaction to this, the U.S. Mission Nigeria tweeted this yesterday
using the Twitter account @USEmbassyAbuja:
"The #USG is deeply disappointed over the recent pardons of corrupt
officials by the GON. #Nigeria"
"We see this as a setback in the fight against corruption. #Nigeria."
Similarly, the global anti-corruption organisation Transparency
International has called on President Jonathan to rescind the pardon
granted to Alamieyeseigha.
In a press statement made available to Elombah.com , the organisation said:
"This decision undermines anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria and
encourages impunity. If the government is serious about uprooting
public corruption, sanctions against those who betray the public trust
should be strengthened, not relaxed," said Akere Muna, vice-chair of
Transparency International.
"Mr. Alamieyeseigha will now be able to stand for public office again.
"President Jonathan should show that he is committed to fighting
corruption and endorse the efforts of law enforcement agencies to end
impunity for corrupt officials.
"Nigeria was ranked 139 out of 174 countries in the 2012 Corruptions
Perceptions Index. Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
has prosecuted and convicted a number of high-profile corrupt
individuals since its inception in 2003, but most of them have escaped
effective sanctions."
The Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Jonathan,
Doyin Okupe however disagrees on this.
" It is out of place to suggest that the pardon is tantamount to
abandoning the fight against corruption in Nigeria. This is too far
from the truth, " he said.

How To Boost Your Bust Without Implants
Breast implant business may be booming currently, but, I am sure you
do not want that. And though it can be rather lonely for lady with a
smaller chest to feel as if they really don't fit in, and you are
tempted to go the implant route, but do you really want to risk it?
Think about the pain, the recovery time, adverse reaction to
anaesthesia, ruptured implants, infection, even silicone leakage.
At the end of the day, you may not be satisfied with the outcome.
Rather than resort to expensive and potentially dangerous surgery, you
can apply these simple strategies to give .
>Wear a Properly Fitted Bra And then Pad It
The truth is that many women walk around daily with the wrong bra
size. Get a proper and accurate measurement of your bra size before
you buy your next bra. Now, if you really want to add an extra cup
size to your bust, go for padded underwire pushup bras to not only
perk up your bosom but make it look fuller.
If you really want to go all out, this is definitely the bra to get.
It is padded on the side and the bottom and it looks 100% natural with
a shirt on or off.
If you don't really want to go an entire 2 cups larger, than
a basic padded or push up bra will do. Look for a push up or
padded bra that allows you to add more inserts in the side as well for
those days where you may want to add a bit more of a lift to your
bust, there are silicone-like inserts nicknamed chicken cutlets that
go into bra or swimsuits to make your breast look bigger and they can
be bought in stores these days. or if you tend to have swollen and
larger breasts during certain times of the month, you can then remove
the inserts for comfort reasons.
>Stand up Straight
If you have any sort of stoop or slouch when you stand, stop that
immediately. Start focusing on straightening up your back and
improving your posture. This can immediately add an entire cup size to
your appearance no joke!
>What about Bathing Suits?
Bathing suits are now made with the smaller girl in mind. A
lot of bathing suits not only offer you the option to insert
more cookies to add a bit more size, but there are a lot of aqua
bathing suits as well that have larger water-based inserts that will
boost you up a size or two.
Many lingerie shops have also opened up their own line of
bathing suits, many of which offer push up bathing suit options for
those who want to add a bit of size and shape to their breasts.

Recharge your Phone by Shaking it? Incredible Technology
U.S. researchers say they are working on a new cellphone charging
system that turns movement into energy, allowing a phone to be
recharged by simply shaking it. Researchers at Virginia Tech are
designing an emergency onboard charger that draws energy from a common
piezoelectric material that can convert vibrations into energy to
power a phone, NewScientist.com reported. Vibrating the material-zinc
oxide-produced an electrical current at about 50 millivolts, they
said. The vibrations could come from finger taps on the phone's
keyboard or by shaking the phone, they said. While it wouldn't produce
a great deal of power -- not nearly enough to continuously operate the
phone --it would be sufficient for an emergency situation, researcher
Shashank Priya said. "In an emergency you could just shake your
cellphone for a few minutes to get enough power to make this one
important call," he says.

Find Out How Too Many Facebook Friends Can Become a Source of Stress to You
Who knew that Facebook would cause people more stress? Well, according
to a new study, apparently it is.
Scottish researchers say that the more Facebook friends a person has,
the more likely social media can become a source of stress. The more
groups of people in someone's Facebook friends, researchers at the
University of Edinburgh Business School reported, the greater the
potential to cause offense, particularly if employers or parents are
included. Stress rises when users present a version of themselves on
Facebook that is unacceptable to some of their online "friends," the
researchers said. Some 55 percent of parents follow their children on
Facebook, they said, while more than half of employers have admitted
to not hiring someone based on the applicant's Facebook page.
"Facebook used to be like a great party for all your friends where you
can dance, drink and flirt," Edinburgh researcher Ben Marder said.
"But now with your Mum, Dad and boss there, the party becomes an
anxious event full of potential social landmines."

Singer Bobby Brown to be Jailed
A Los Angeles judge has sentenced R&B artist Bobby Brown to 55 days in
jail for driving under the influence and with a suspended license,
records show. He is to report to jail March 20, Los Angeles City
Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan told E! News, confirming Brown's no
contest plea and sentence Tuesday. The 55-year-old singer also was
placed on 48 months summary probation and ordered to pay fees,
complete an 18-month alcohol program and install an ignition interlock
device that prohibits the driver from starting the car if his or her
blood alcohol content is over a certain limit, E! News said. Brown's
license was suspended due to a prior conviction for driving under the
influence. The singer is the ex-husband of recording artist Whitney
Houston, who died in February 2012. The couple had a stormy
relationship fueled by drug and alcohol abuse and their 14- year
marriage ended in 2007.

Why You Need a Vaseline in Your House
There is hardly any family you will go to that doesn't have Vaseline
sitting around in a cupboard or drawer in their washroom. Though
recently we don't use it nearly as much as we should, we all own it
for some reason. What are the reasons why you have vaseline in your
house?
>What is Vaseline?
Vaseline is a product that was created in the late 19th century by a
chemist named Robert Cheesebrough. Throughout the course of his work,
he observed that the factory workers were using the rod wax to
moisturize their skin and discovered that the wax also helped speed up
the healing time of any skin cuts and wounds. He took this knowledge
and made up several different batches or "lines" of products that
contained the key ingredient, petroleum jelly, and put them in vases.
This is where the "vase" in" Vaseline" originates from.
>To Improve your Smile
Do you notice the gleaming smiles of beauty queens during beauty
pageants? Did you know that you can brighten your smile with just a
touch of Vaseline? Simply take a small amount on your finger and then
rub it all over your front teeth and gums to really make your teeth
glisten...
>To Soften your Feet
If you have rough and calloused feet, you can use Vaseline to help
soften them up. Soak your feet in a warm tub of water for up to 15
minutes, and then rub the rough areas of skin with a pumice stone.
When you are finished exfoliating the skin, take some Vaseline and rub
it into those areas. Throw on a thick pair of socks and go to bed.
When you wake up the next morning, you will notice a considerable
difference in the softness of your feet!
>To Moisturize your Lips
The simplest lip gloss product that you can ever find is Vaseline.
Taking a bit of Vaseline on your finger and then rubbing it into your
lip will not only hydrate your lips, but it will give them that wet,
kissable shine. You can apply Vaseline right overtop of any lipstick
you may be wearing, too.
>To Style Dry Hair
Have dry hair? Then pick up a jar of Vaseline. Dab a very small amount
of Vaseline onto your fingers and style your hair as you usually would
(do use it sparingly as Vaseline can quickly make your hair go from
healthy looking and shiny to greasy and oily in seconds). The Vaseline
will hold your style and your hair will feel and look better too!
>To Tame your Brows
Did you know that Vaseline can be used as a great product to hold your
eyebrows in place? Take a tiny little bit of the product and then
apply it to your eyebrow area with either an eyebrow brush or with
your fingertip.
>To Remove your Eye Makeup
Yes, Vaseline can also remove your eye makeup if you are ever in a
pinch. Put a small amount of Vaseline on a cloth or a towel, and then
rub it gently over top of your eye area. You should notice that all
eye makeup has been removed, including your waterproof mascara!
So, if you have not a vaseline in your home, i advise you to go to the
nearest store and get one for your family.

lip will not only hydrate your lips, but it will give them that wet,
kissable shine.

Kogi State University Undergraduate Kidnapped by Facebook Friends Rescuedby the Police
Seven months after the entire nation was put in shock by the killing
of Cynthia Osokogu, a post graduate student of Nasarawa State
University who was killed by friends she met on social media,
Facebook, an undergraduate student of Kogi State University,Oludoyi
Bamidele Samuel, was abducted by a kidnap syndicate, facilitated by a
friend he also met on Facebook.
However, Samuel was lucky to be alive after been rescued from the
kidnappers' den by the police and to tell his story of how a friend he
met on Facebook lured him from Enugu to Deltastate.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ikechukwu Aduba told Vanguard
that Samuel left Enugu for Warri, Delta state for a birthday party
upon the invitation of his Facebook friend.
" He was invited by a friend, identified as Michael, who he met on
Facebook for a birthday party in Warri. They have not met face to face
before this incident, but have been chatting on the internet. He must
have found out his background through his interaction with him on the
social media.
" So, they plotted how to abduct him and make money. Samuel, the only
son of his parents, who his kidnappers believe are well to do, left
his parents in Enugu without telling them where he was going to and
entered a vehicle to Warri. He(Samuel) was discussing with Michael on
phone and called him on when he got toWarri, but his so-called friend
had ulterior motive. He had arranged with others to kidnap him and
Samuel was whisked to a house at Uzor Street, Agbarho, where he was
held hostage for three days."
He added that the kidnappers held him hostage for three days before
Police officers from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, stormed
their hideout and seized three of the suspects. They demanded N5
million ransom from Samuel's mother to effect his release and were
relocating him to another location when the police caught them.
The Commissioner who warned young people to desist from trusting
people they meet on Social Media added:
"I do not understand this; I am warning young men and women to stop
this behavior. How can you leave your home to go a birthday party by
somebody you do not know, all because both of you met on Facebook?
This is ridiculous.People should help the police by being security
conscious. Can you imagine, he left Enugu without telling his parents
and the suspected kidnappers were using his phone to call his parents,
asking for ransom," he said

certificate it awarded to a former governor of the state, Uzor Orji
Kalu.
According to Premium Times, the University in a statement by its
Registrar, O. E. Onuoha, on Saturday said the decision was taken after
an emergency meeting of the University Senate which considered there
commendations of a panel which investigated the allegations levelled
against Kalu. In withdrawing the certificate, the University said the
admission and graduation of the former governor violated its extant
rules and regulations.
"On the strength of the findings and recommendations of an
investigative panel into allegations of breach of the extant Academic
Regulations of Abia State University, in the admission process of the
admission and graduation of Kalu, Orji Uzor in the discipline of
Government and Public Administration, of matriculation number

Extra-Ordinary meeting of Friday 1st March 2013 and by a vote of
eighty-eight (88) against three (3) dissenting voices only, approved
the cancellation and withdrawal of the degree result and certificate
awarded to him.
"The decision of Senate was based on the following grounds among others:
*The violation of the Academic Regulations of the university on
Admission-by-Transfer, which rendered the offer irregular, abinitio.
*The non-completion of the mandatory six(6) semesters (i.e. three
academic years of study), before he was awarded a degree of the
university. He spent only two semesters in all.
"The university Senate maintained that its action, aforesaid, derived
from the exercise of its onerous statutory responsibility to guard and
maintain , at all times, the Academic Regulations of the University,
its hard-earned reputation and the credibility of the certificates it
awards," Onuoha said.
Kalu was initially a student of the University of Maiduguri but he
dropped out. While he was governor of Abia state, he reenrolled

DJINEE SPEAKS HIS MIND ON NIGERIA
In Nigeria, all we do is give reasons for our failures; but I still
believe in a very good Nigeria. I will not join the band wagon of the
people who are calling for us to separate. I don't think that's what
we need, we are not North and South Sudan. We are not Mali, we are
different. We are very peculiar case, and I think that slowly the so
called cabal will implode, and I believe the same God that was around
during Abacha's time is still around now. Because if you remember what
was about to happen during that time, I think the same God still
exists, and I believe it's going to happen.
