Pathetic: How robbers plucked out my eyes for frustrating their operation

Mr. Isaac Nwabude, a former lorry driver, said robbers plucked his
eyes, as punishment for daring to run over their barricade and thereby
frustrating their operations.

Narrating his ordeal, Mr. Isaac, of Urunnebo Village, Enugwu-Ukwu, in
Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State, said that the day the
incident happened in 1992 as he was travelling from Jos, in Plateau
State, to Onitsha, in Anambra State, with goods and passengers in his
Mercedes Benz lorry when they ran into a roadblock mounted by armed
robbers, in the night, at Opi Junction, in Nsukka area of Enugu State.
That encounter rendered him blind and has incapacitated his life. On
what happened, he said: "At Opi Junction, we ran into a gang of armed
robbers, who mounted road block on the way and I had no alternative
but to stop because the road block was high and I could not run over
it. They opened fire on us and killed four of my passengers, who were
owners of the tomatoes I was carrying in the vehicle and inflicted
injury on some others.
"The rest of us who were alive and conscious, jumped down from the
vehicle and were ordered to lie face down on the road and we did."
Nwabude said that when the robbers discovered that he was the driver
of the vehicle, they told him that they would deal with him because he
had earlier run over their road block in one of their operations at
Ankpa, in Benue State and thereby frustrating their operations.
"When they said that, I concluded that they would either kill me
outright or shoot me on the leg or somewhere else to give me permanent
disability," he stated. According to the driver, the robbers tied his
hands and legs with the rope they got from his vehicle, and used their
sharp knife to pluck his two eyes and left him to his fate. Nwabude
said that other drivers came to his rescue when the robbers had gone
and took him to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.
Since he was discharged from the hospital, he has been going to UNTH
on monthly basis for check-up, where doctors wash the artificial eyes
they fixed in his eye socket as well as give him drugs to reduce pain
and forestall infection. Nwabude's tale continues after the robbery,
when his wife, who got traumatised by what happened, developed
hypertension and died. He said: "My wife developed hypertension and
was taken to the hospital. The next information I received was that my
wife was dead.
Her death compounded my problems, as I was left with our four children
to cater for, when I am blind and did not have any means of
livelihood." Nwabude said that a priest later assisted him by getting
families who took in two of his four children. Unfortunately, one of
the two kids died in Lagos, while the other one is still living with
the family. The blind man said he was once given a paper to the
Ministry of Women Affairs to seek employment, but regretted that after
several visits, nothing positive came out of it.
"Although I appreciate so much the assistance being given to me and my
children by good spirited people, I want the government to help me in
any way, so that I will be able to feed my children and give them good
education," he declared.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles says it is using iPads to
let new mothers bond with their babies even when they are in separate
areas of the facility. Mothers who are not ambulatory after delivery,
perhaps because of a Caesarean section or other complications, are
able to see their newborns in the Cedars-Sinai Hospital's neonatal
intensive care unit on iPads using a secured Internet connection, the
hospital said in a release Thursday. The program, called BabyTime,
allows them to interact with their infants and the medical team caring
for them. "BabyTime will help bridge communication with the family and
the baby's medical team and is an excellent use of technology to help
new mothers bond with their babies, even when they cannot be
physically at their babies' bedside," Charles F. Simmons Jr. ofthe
Cedars-Sinai Department of Pediatrics said. "When doctors and nurses
are treating a newborn in the NICU, mom can be right there asking
questions and getting updates, even if she's on adifferent floor."
Twenty percent to 30 percent of mothers who undergo C-sections do not
feel well enough to travel from their bed in the labor and delivery
unit to the NICU for the first 24 to 48 hours, Simmons said. When a
baby is admitted to the NICU, an iPad is set up next to the infant's
incubator, while a second iPad is delivered to the new mother, who can
log onto BabyTime twice a day, hospital staff said. "The BabyTime
program will reduce fear and stress in the new moms as they are able
to see their babies and also communicate with the doctors and nurses,"
NICU nurse manager Selma Braziel said.

Paul Okoye's Girlfriend Gives Birth to a Baby Boy in USA

The Nigerian Twin Super-Stars are at it again. The girlfriend of
Nigerian music star Paul Okoye of P-Square group, Anita, has put to
bed. This is barely three months after Peter Okoye's girlfriend,
Omotayo gave birth to a baby girl in USA. Anita was reported to have
given birth to a baby boy in the United States of America yesterday.
Reports say that Paul travelled to America to meet his girlfriend on
Monday. The baby boy has been christened Andre.
Both the mother and child are in good health.

Tips for Styling and Wearing Skirts

or lined broadcloth.
If you're looking for cool clothing in hot, summertime
weather, skirts may not actually be your best bet. If you

STYLING A SKIRT FOR COLD WEATHER

In winter, you can get a slightly retro look without looking weirdly

pair of knee high swede or leather boots. The plaid skirt and

but you do have to be careful about not looking like a Catholic

Skirts fit most women best if they flare slightly around the hips,
making a little extra room for sitting and bending. Slightly A-lineor
belled skirts are usually most flattering and hide any aspects you may
not like about your buns,hips and thighs. This is a problem area for
many, many women, so don't think you are the only one. If you're thin,
you can take advantage of slim hips to wear pencil skirts, but if you
are thinner than you'd like to be, you can add a little substance by

Dress Up or Down a Skirt with Your Top
Knit tops look nice with skirts, but may be more casual than the look
you want. Sweaters, twin sets or jackets dress up the look. The right
blouse can look good, but you have to be careful to find one that
tucks in neatly or looks good left out. Avoid blouses with frills or
bows: prettifying a blouse often makes it look frumpy.

Mbryo was born Prince Omoferi in Warri to the family of Rev. Omoferi
Akpedeye; in Delta state which was
where he had his primary & secondary school education. Growing up
wasn't much fun because Dad was really strict (Y'know pastors now);
hence hedidn't have much friends, No outings but he taught us to be
close as siblings so the vacuum of not having friends wasn't felt
much. He grew up loving Music, started playing drums at age 7, Piano
at age 12 and other instruments along the line. He came into Lagos in
the late nineties where he would say he really learnt everything he

Mbryo has a Diploma in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo

A western New York nun admitted she stole $128,000 to feed her
gambling habit, prosecutors said. Sister Mary Anne Rapp of the Order
of St. Francis pleaded guilty in Orleans County Court to one count of
fourth-degree grand larceny, District Attorney Joe Cardone said. A
court heard Rapp, a Roman Catholic nun for 50 years, took the cash
between March 2006 and April 2011 when she was in charge of collecting
donations for the two parishes Rapp stole the money from St. Mark's
Church in Holley, N.Y., about 60 miles northeast of Buffalo. The
thefts occurred from 2006 to 2011. Western New York state's Daily News
Online reports an audit was ordered by Father Mark Noonan when he took
over as pastor of the two houses of worship in 2010. Discrepancies
were discovered, and Rapp was arrested in November. She faces a
maximum sentence of six months in jail and five years probation.

Ancient prophecies: Pope Francis Could be the last

WHEN the great 16th Century prophet Nostradamus stared into the
future, he described the fate of the final pope with eerie detail. And
the first sign will soon be in our skies.
The 266th pope now sits on the Throne of St Peter. According to the
pen of several prophets, he will be the last.
One prophet, a Saint of the Catholic Church, counted down the popes
until the end of the world. After Pope Francis there are no more on
that list.
Nostradamus himself foresaw the end of a pope and the Church itself at
a time when a great comet was to fill our skies. Comet Ison, said to
be one of the brightest for centuries, will pass by later this year.
Their ancient words have set speculation ablaze on internet forums and
in social media debates.
Anything mentioning Nostradamus is bound to fire up imaginations.
From his smoke-filled room in 16th century Renaissance France, the
prophet wrote oneof his characteristically tantalising four-line
prophetic "quatrains":

"The great star for seven days shall burn
So nakedly clear like two suns appearing
The large dog all night howling, While the great Pontiff shall change
his territory."
Astronomers have announced that Comet Ison, which will pass later this
year, could end up being brighter than the moon - if it survives its
encounter with the sun.
This has been seized upon as evidence that Nostradamus's words are
about to come to pass.
Another of Nostradamus's writings has also beenassociated with the end
of the Catholic Church:
Quatrain VI.6:
There will appear towards the North
Not far from Cancer the bearded star:
Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,
The great one of Romewill die, the night over.
Again a portentous comet is mentioned inassociation with a fateful
event involving"the great one of Rome", a phrase he repeatedly used to
refer to the Catholic Church.
As with all of Nostradamus' prophecies, these quatrains have been
applied to various events over the centuries - most recently Pope John
Paul II.
However, in this case, Nostradamus was not the only one to foretell
the fate of the Catholic Church's final leader.
It is the writings of Saint Malachy, an archbishop of the 1100s, which
definitively states this will be the pope of theend times.
A Benedictine monk claimed to have discovered in 1595 a collection of
the Saint's papers where he had purportedly secretly written down 112
brief but vague prophecies. Each is associated with the reign of an
individual pope.
The last phrase applies to Pope Francis:
Verse 112:
"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and
when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be
destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End."
Such vague words are widely open to interpretation and willno doubt
continue to generate speculation - even if another pope is elected.
And if Nostradamus and Saint Malachy are proven wrong, one can always
fall back on prophecies from the likes of Sir Isaac Newton who
predicts - based on his biblical calculations - that the world will
end in 2060.

Police Arrests Assistant Principal For Having Sexual Relations With 3 Underage Male Students

Erin Henton, A California woman is accused of having sexual
relationships with three underage male students who attend the
Riverside County high school where she acts as assistant principal.
Mrs. Henton, 45, an administrator at Tahquitz High School in Hemet,
Calif. , was arrested Wednesday following a month-long investigation
by local police. Henton was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery,
oral copulation and abnormal sexual interest in children. She is also

According to KLTA report, the charges against Henton include 12
felonies , seven of which are for sexual intercourse with a minor. She
is being held on $1 million bail.
Police allege that Henton carried on sexual relationships with three
boys under the age of 18 throughout the course of several months but
say that no encounters took place at the school. Hemet police Lt.
Duane Wisehart told NBC Los Angeles that Henton allegedly exchanged
"improper, illegal" images with the boys via text message.
In a statement issued by the department, police said that Henton was
placed on paid leave March 8 after allegations were made by a parent.
According to the New York Daily News, Henton began meeting one of the
boys outside of school in September, and their relationship continued
until the police investigation was launched

On March 17, a patron at South City Kitchen in Atlanta says Kim chowed
down greasy chicken and waffles, along with smashed bliss potatoes,
collard greens and mac and cheese.
"She hasn't just gained 20 pounds like she claims," a friend tells the
tabloid . "She'd already gained 45 to 50 when she still had four
months to go!"
Kim's weight has been the subject of the paparazzi for weeks, causing
Helena Christensen to recently come out in defense of Kardashian .
If only Kanye felt the same way, though, as the magazine claims he
has"deserted" his baby mama when she needs him most, spending most of
this time these days in Paris.
Kardashian, however, has denied this assertion, saying in a recent
interview that West loves her growing body.

can also be an applicant if one of your parents was born in a country
that is eligible to participate.

million. He's still rolling in cash from megadeals like his $204
million Rocawear sale in 2007 and his $150 million pact with Live

would be estimated at a little over $100 million this year, 50 Cent

"I've got way more."
If his new ventures continue to grow, 50 Cent's number on this list
should begin to reflect that belief as soon as next year.
As for Diddy, he may need to stick to Benjamins after all. According
